Boys Basketball Wins!
Last Friday night, the Pentucket high school boy’s basketball team traveled to Amesbury High for an intense rivalry game. Pentucket entered the game with a 3-5 record and Amesbury with a 2-7 record. The ball was tipped up and the game began.
Pentucket got the lead and never gave it back to the Indians. The Sachems were scoring from everywhere on the court. There defense was tenacious and for the first three quarters it seemed like the Indians could never get their offense going.
At the start of the fourth quarter Pentucket had a comfortable 17 point lead. Out of nowhere the Indians came out with intensity. Pentucket started to turn the ball over and Amesbury capitalized. With 2 minutes left Pentucket was only up by six points. Time was running down and the Indians saw their hopes of a comeback fade slowly once the Sachems started to hit their free throws. The sachems won the game 64-59.
