Many students, parents, and staff members alike drive by the beloved West Newbury Pizza Company on their way to and from school, but not everyone is aware of the level of delectability of each meal. With so many menu items to choose from, West Newbury Pizza Co. is one of the best spots around. This article also includes a list of specials that are only available once in a while. Shrimp Scampi – $16.95. Spaghetti with shrimp, tomatoes, artichokes, and basil, which is also served with garlic bread. 

Mrs. Endyke has tried the shrimp scampi; “It was about two years ago, but it was very good.” 

Pasticcio – $16.95. A traditional greek meal made with seasoned ground beef, bucatini noodles, and creamy béchamel sauce. It is also served with a side greek salad. 

Chicken Gyro bowl – $14.95. A grilled chicken and rice bowl topped with fresh sliced tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, feta cheese, kalamata olives, and tzatziki sauce. This comes with pita bread on the side. 

Fish Tacos – $14.95 All on a flour tortilla, golden fried haddock, avocado, cilantro lime slaw, and a spicy crema, served with a side of black beans and rice. 

George, West Newbury Pizza Co. ‘s pizza chef, reminisces on the fish tacos after he was asked for his favorite special. “Those were good, I need to make those again,” he said. 

Pulled Pork bowl – $14.95. A flavorful meal complete with pulled pork, seasoned corn, sliced red onions, cole slaw, corn bread, and a lime for extra flavor. 

Homemade Thanksgiving Dinner – $13.95. Delicious turkey and mashed potatoes with gravy, stuffing, carrots, cornbread, and cranberry sauce. Once, 28 dinners sold in half an hour.

Greek Orzo Salad – $14.95.  A unique salad, served on orzo pasta, with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, kalamata olives, sliced onions, shrimp, and feta cheese. 

Homemade Stuffed Shells – $15.95. Delectable pasta shells filled with marinara sauce and ricotta cheese, served with a ceasar salad and garlic bread. 

Senior, Mirabel Elias-Upham, who is also employed at West Newbury Pizza Co., had a lot to say about the stuffed shells. She said, “the sauce adds a perfect touch of flavor to the blank canvas of pasta and cheese.” Not only are the stuffed shells delectable on their own, Mirabel adds, “the garlic bread, which I will say is lovingly and beautifully made, adds everything to the ensemble […] a wonderful, impeccable meal that gets better by the bite.”

Stuffed Peppers – $15.95. Bell peppers stuffed with rice and seasoned angus ground beef, served with a greek salad. 

Mexican Chicken and Rice Bowl – $13.95. Delicious grilled chicken with melted shredded cheese, tomato, seasoned corn, black beans, and avocado. 

This special is my personal favorite; it brings many different flavors at one time, and has a great texture. The cheese melted onto the chicken is the best part, but every ingredient combined is like a tasteful rainbow. Any time I see these ingredients in the kitchen, I know the shift will be busy. 

Homemade Moussaka – $17.95. Eggplant, potatoes, and meat sauce, topped with cream sauce and spices. It is also served with a greek salad. 

Homemade Spanakopita (Spinach Pie) – $12.95. Flaky phyllo dough, spinach, onions, feta, eggs, and herbs, served with a greek salad. 

This is frequently asked for at West Newbury Pizza. Although it is not often in stock, it is undoubtedly a popular item. Upon asking the owner of the restaurant, Melina, she agreed that it is the most popular special. 

Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner – $16.95. Corned beef with cabbage, carrots, and potatoes. 

Lamb Shank – $17.95 A greek style dish served with orzo, feta, and a Greek salad.

Homemade Greek Dolmathes – $10.95. Grape leaves stuffed with spiced ground beef and rice, served with homemade lemon sauce, a side greek salad, and grilled pita bread. 

Melina was also asked what her favorite special was. After making so many for so many years, she was unsure of the best one, but decided it was “probably the grape leaves.”

Different acquired tastes call for different dishes, but with so many options, there is just about something for everyone. Many more specials at West Newbury Pizza Co. come and go, so look out for the dish that appeals to you!
