Have you ever heard of a place and thought, maybe I should visit there, but you don’t know much about it? Well, here are some of the most popular places to visit in the world. Filled with different activities, things to see, and different climates, there is something that everyone would like!
Florida
Florida is a very popular vacation spot for many tourists, especially ones who enjoy visiting glamorous beaches, the largest amusement parks in the world, different restaurants, and much more. One of the most popular places to go is Disney World which is the largest amusement park in the world, where people enjoy going with family and friends. Along with all of this, they have many nice resorts for people to stay and relax. Freshman Emma Neipp explains why she loves visiting Florida herself. “I love the warm sandy beaches, palm trees, sunsets, visiting Disney World, the warm weather, and especially missing school.”
Greece
Greece has a lot of fun things to do and has grown to become a very popular travel destination over the past few years. Many people go for the relaxing beaches and clear water, while others enjoy the history and all the museums. A popular place to visit is the open-air museums in Athens where people visit the wonderful collections of buildings and artifacts displayed in an outdoor environment. The preserved ruins, food, and culture are just some of the many great things about Greece!
Bahamas
The Bahamas is a very tropical place with lots of resorts and gorgeous beaches, along with plenty of activities for visitors. During their stay, visitors often love partaking in snorkeling, diving, seeing coral reefs, and admiring all of their marine life. In the Bahamas, tourists can stay in some of the nicest resorts in the world, right on the ocean! Freshman Jillian Peacock tells us why she enjoys visiting the Bahamas. “I love visiting the Bahamas because it is very warm, the beaches are amazing, the cultural aspect is cool, the hotels and waterparks are awesome, and the wildlife is really amazing to see. And I even get to visit for gymnastics which makes it even better.”
Europe
Europe has a very diverse culture which is what many people love about it. The different food and cultures make it so there is a lot to learn here. Europe also has many monuments to visit such as the Eiffel Tower, Leaning Tower of Pisa, The Colosseum, Big Ben, Notre Dame, and many more. There are also many museums to go to and some astounding artwork to see in these museums. Especially in the Louvre, which gets over 8 million visitors per year, and the British Museum which is home to over seventy-four thousand pieces of art. An added bonus of Europe is that some of the countries are close together making it easy to visit more places on your trip.
New York City
New York City is the type of place where there is never not something to do as it is filled with plenty of activities. During the holidays, there is the Thanksgiving Day parade, Christmas tree lighting, and the ball drop on New Year’s Eve, which draws in over a million people annually. Even if you are not here during the holidays, there is much more to do, like seeing monuments like the 9/11 Memorial, the Freedom Tower, the Statue of Liberty and a lot more. People also love going shopping, to concerts, and watching sporting events. These are just some of the reasons to visit New York- overall it is just a great place to visit!
Bora Bora
Bora Bora is a very beautiful island in the North Pacific Ocean, with many luxury hotels and beaches. They have plenty of activities to do including snorkeling, diving, and other activities. People tend to enjoy going to their coral reefs, lagoons, white sandy beaches, and just seeing the landscape during their trips here. But, one of the most popular places to visit is the Turquoise Lagoon where there is nice clear blue water and sandy beaches for relaxation.
Maui
Maui, part of Hawaii, is a very beautiful place to visit, with amazing beaches and delicious food. Some of the most popular things to do there are visit the golden beaches, see the landscape, go hiking, and drive the road to Hana, a winding route driven by many to see its rainforests, waterfalls, and historical sites. Maui is also a great place for people to go snorkeling and do other things in nature around this beautiful landscape.
Egypt
Egypt is very popular and well known for its history and the ancient Egyptians which people love learning about when they travel here. Tourists love to see the Pyramids, The Nile River, Luxor Temple, Giza, and Abu Simbel, and these are just some of the wonderful places to visit in Egypt. Another thing people love to do is visit the Sahara Desert, where people also enjoy camping. The year-round sunny beaches are also very beautiful and a great place to relax when vacationing in Egypt.
Turks and Caicos
Turks and Caicos is a very popular tourist destination with just about one million people visiting annually. Lots of people like to go here and see the whales migrating through which can be seen in the deep sea of Caicos from late January until early March. They also are very popular when it comes to water sports such as diving, snorkeling, etc. But if you don’t enjoy those then there are plenty of beaches to visit and relax.
South Island New Zealand
The reason South Island New Zealand is so popular is because of the glaciers, mountains, and fjords. People enjoy the national parks and the Franz Josef Glacier, which is one of the most remarkable glaciers in the world. It goes about 8,000 feet below sea level and 700 feet above and is considered one of the steepest glaciers in the world. There is also plenty of wildlife to see here when hiking and visiting these glaciers.
