What is Newsies?
Newsies is a meaningful but short production, only about an hour long. It is loosely based on the 1899 strike that was organized by the newsboys in New York. It is full of fun songs that are bound to make audiences feel a variety of emotions.
Brooke Snow, the director of the show, describes this show as “Very empowering and very sweet. It can be described as many different things based on the way people view its contents. Some may think it is silly while others might see it as a way for people to rise up and relate to.”
The cast also has much to say about this show. Louie Sayani, who plays the leading role of Jack Kelly, states, “It is an amazing production and the people are so talented.” Along with this, Lila Dell Isola who plays lead Davy Jacobs, mentions that “Being a part of this has been a great experience and the show is just amazing!”

Moreover, the choreography in this show can be hard to learn if a person does not pick it up easily. Along with this, some of the cast members themselves are making choreography which takes a lot of work. It is truly amazing to think that these kids are putting in so much effort to make this production truly come to life.
It can clearly be seen that these students are putting in their all to make sure that this show is a big success. This production is going to be great and it is clear that the cast will not let it be anything other than that.
