When was the last time you walked down the hallway and did not see someone wearing a beanie with a pom-pom on it? Can’t remember? That’s because these hats have become a major trend in today’s winter style. Some reasons that this trend may have come about is that because it is winter, people are cold and want to keep their head warm. Others might say they saw their favorite NFL player wearing them on the sidelines, specifically New England Hero Tom Brady, as he is never seen without one.

When asked about the hats, Senior Zach Colbert said that they are “God’s gift to mankind”, and even went as far as saying he’d rather “lose my left arm than never wear a pom-pom again.” When he was asked where he believes the trend started he said that Tom Brady started it. “Kids want to be him” he said.

Freshman Josh Devereux followed up by saying that he does wear the hats and that people just started wearing them, in regards to the beginning of the trend.

On the other hand, Senior Joe Garfi said he did not wear them, but did admit to liking them, “I’m not looking to get one, but they are stylish.” When asked about the trend, he also said he thinks it started with Tom Brady.

Until the weather hopefully warms up, Sachem Nation can expect to see many more pom-pom hats both on and off campus.
