The Woman, The Myth, The Legend: Leanne Villani
Villani’s students revere her as a god. Often, she gives her students a break and claims “you have received a gifts from the gods!”
Villani is also aware that she is constantly on the record, seeing as several journalism students are enrolled in her classes. Recently she has been battling the heat of the press. Her statement is as follows: “Don’t tweet this! Did you tweet about me?”
Interestingly, Villani’s last name isn’t legally Villani anymore. She remarried to one Mr. Howard Schneider. Villani, understanding her student’s familiarity with her previous last name, still goes by Villani rather than Schneider.
When asked how many times she had been proposed to, Villani replied “oh, only 6 or 7.” According to the Pentucket Bureau of Statistics, the average American only gets proposed to once in his or her lifetime. Villani is a true crusader in this area.
When caught in the predicament of not having enough copies of an in-class assignment, Villani puts much thought into who she picks from the class to run to the copy machine them, only choosing someone who she is honorable enough to “work for the Latin Department.”
Villani also has many other emergencies to deal with throughout her school day. Some are even new and unexpected. One memorable example was the odor crisis of ‘16 when Villani proclaimed: “This day has been the worst day of my career… I’ve never had a smell emergency before!”
If you’re ever in a crunch and need a bite to eat, stop by Villani’s classroom. She will likely offer you some “fish crackers.” Though at first you may be confused, do not fret. Villani is simply offering you what us common folk call Goldfish. Villani tends to stray away from brand names as to not further promote the overly corporate atmosphere of American high schools.
If you haven’t noticed by now, Villani is quite the character. Yet, she is an amazing scholar and educator. Her students would be remiss if they did not say she has touched each and every one of their lives. Villani plans to continue her career as a Latin teacher at Pentucket.
