As 2024 comes to a close, students are looking forward to all sorts of school breaks and entertaining activities to push them into the new year. One very exciting thing to look forward to during the month of November is spirit week!
If you are unsure of what to expect during this crazy fun time, don’t worry, keep reading to find out everything you need to know about spirit week here at Pentucket.
How it Works
Each year, beginning a week before the Wednesday students and faculty leave for Thanksgiving break, everyone at Pentucket celebrates their school spirit with a school-wide spirit week. During spirit week, students dress up according to the theme of the day and report to their homeroom each morning to get counted for points towards their final scores.
Scores consist of dress up day points, color day video points, poster points, spirit night points and sometimes other point-scoring opportunities such as donations for charities (This year there is a holiday donation drive- one point per donation!). All of these points are added up to make the final scores for each grade. The class with the highest score is the winner of spirit week.

- Turkey toss at 2:30 p.m.

- Tickets are $5 and grades 9-12 only

Past Spirit Weeks:
Last year, the class of 2025 juniors beat the class of 2024 seniors which was a huge victory because the senior class, having the most experience, tends to come out on top.
Spirit night is one of the most looked forward to events all year. Students sign up for different games that are played in the gym throughout the night. People come dressed to the nines in their class color and participate in intense competition as grades work together and compete in games to earn points. Winners in each game earn points for their grade and those points go towards the full score of each class.
Students also put in amazing effort to make class posters for the video. This year the overall theme for videos was movie series. The class of 2025 is doing “Mission Impossible”, the class of 2026 is doing “Back to the Future”, the class of 2027 is doing “Rocky”, and the class of 2028 is doing “Minions”. Watching the videos is a fun time as we get to see the hard work that goes into winning spirit week.
