Credit for Life Fair

On Tuesday Pentucket Juniors attended the 5th annual “Credit for Life” fair. This fair is an event hosted by the Institution for Savings where juniors from local high schools get to learn financial management skills that they will use in the future. Each student gets to choose an occupation and is given an annual salary. Based on their monthly income, students are given the task of making crucial financial decisions. Over the course of three hours, they visited 15 different booths, and each booth provided students with different ways to utilize cash. Such booths included housing, transportation, and education. Students even had the freedom to spend their money in fun ways, like buying vacations or adopting animals.  During the event, they had the opportunity to talk to credit counselor for advice on how to better manage their credit score. It was a fun and educational experience for the junior class.
